UP Chapter of Obstetrics & Gynaecology was started in 1986 by PADMASHRI DR USHA SHARMA from Meerut with the aim to give platform to obstetricians from Uttar Pradesh for dissemination of knowledge, sharing clinical experiences and doing combined efforts to improve women health statistics. This was also established with the aim to give platform to postgraduates to present research papers, posters and participation in quiz etc. Initially chapter was started with few members only, which has now increased in large numbers. The head office of UPCOG is in Meerut.
